Our Story
Maasai Family Safari is founded and run by Warriors born and raised in a Maasai community in Northern Tanzania. Both a safari company, and a cultural exchange and human rights organization, this company blends responsible safari experiences with meaningful cultural connections, and support for on the ground human rights activism.
Founder Isaya and his brother, chief guide and driver Lambris, grew up between their family boma (traditional extended family home) and the vast lands of the savannah, learning from an early age the values of courage, respect, hospitality, and living in harmony with wildlife. With their years of guiding experience and extensive knowledge of Tanzania’s northern national parks, they combine cultural knowledge with professional safari expertise that carries the spirit of this safari company.
Created to offer travelers something deeper than a traditional safari, beyond the national parks and wildlife encounters, guests are welcomed to experience local community life, daily traditions, stories, and witnessing the warmth and generosity that define Tanzanian communities.
Twenty percent (20%) of all proceeds from your trip are dedicated to supporting the Osotuwa Foundation, an organization committed to ending childhood marriage in Maasai community and ensuring girls have access to higher education.
By choosing Maasai Family Safari, guests not only get a safari experience, they also directly contribute to local Tanzanian communities, helping build opportunities for the future for women and girls, and support responsible tourism and environmental awareness. This is not just travel, it is shared understanding, responsibility and impact.
